It’s September! And those of us working/living with young people are determined to start the new school year off on the right foot. Many authors (adult and adolescent) take seriously the job of getting children to read and are ready to help us lesser mortals. Several familiar names in children’s publishing are now hosting impressive sites for kids (and their grown-ups) to enjoy. If you live with guys, or are the parent of some smaller guys, you’ll want to visit Jon Scieszka’s space on the web – Guys READ. There are lists of recommended books along with Mr. Scieszka’s trademark silliness and fun. In addition, James Patterson, working in collaboration with Judy Freeman has launched Read Kiddo Read - another award winning source for book lists, author interviews and ideas for sharing the joy of reading with your family. Take a moment, check them out and pick up a good book to start the school year!
